I would suggest you talk with someone from World-Link Communications, info-cy@wlnet.com , the product ShipMail Crew would offer the Crew E-mail and they have SMS integration for sending of SMS via e-mail as well.

Hello Christos,

I have been working as an independent consultant in this area for a number of years now and I am sure I could recommend a solution that would suit your needs.

Please feel free to send me a message.

Gary.

Well I'm currently checking the Blue Ocean wireless solution (http://www.blueoceanwireless.com) that it's being brokered in Greece by NTS. They claim that for a 3 or 5 Year contract with a minimum monthly volume of traffic they install 2 Fleet-33 on board free of charge and when fleet broadband is available upgrade both units to fleet broadband. Currently the system will use both F-33 units but in the future the second F-Broadband unit will be freed from the system so that I can use it as I wish on board.

We have installed it (Blue Ocean Wireless GSM solution) to one of our vessels and the feedback is VERY positive.
Indeed they install 2 F33 units (completely free of charge), one of which will be upgraded to Fleet broadband once the service will have worldwide coverage and then the second F33 will not be necessary (yet, it will belong to us and can be used for other business purposes).
The charge for the voice calls is at 0.99$/min fixed fee (both outgoing AND incoming calls are charged) and each SMS is 50 cents (outgoing only - no charge for incoming SMS messages for the recipient).
The seafarers can use their own cell phones by using the SIM card provided by Blue Ocean Wireless. Extra units are loaded automatically with an email to the company. There is NO roaming service, which means that the service is unavailable at a certain distance from coast. The crew email service will soon be available.

We have tried "Hermes Messaging: from Otesat, with satisfactory results and currently working on "AmosConnect" from STRATOS. To the best of my knowledge, all solutions are "linked" to a specific provider. Similar solutions are available from Andrapido (Rapidomail / IP Signature) , DIAL LTD, etc.

Hi Stelios,

Not all Email applications are linked to airtime, GTMail and Dualog are both excellent packages that are not tied to any airtime deals

GTMail looks really good. We will start deployment next week to one ship.
Thanks for the tip

Hi !
Any update from GTMAIL testing ??

We run GTMail on two vessels now with satisfactory results. The "beauty" of ths system is that it works over the Internet so it supports all types of communications (Mni-M,Inm-B, Fleet-33, Fleet-77, FleetBB, VSAT) and all Providers. It is easy to install and the Web based interface is as simple as required. I am not a salesperson, but I really likes this product.

Do you happen to have the link to GTmail?
